Summary: Mother Nance stores your data on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, track, or share your personal information.
What Data We Store
Mother Nance stores the following data that you create:
- Starter Information: Names, feeding schedules, locations, and notes for your sourdough starters
- Recipes: Recipe names, ingredients, directions, and photos you add
- Baking Sessions: Session progress, notes, and timestamps
- Photos: Images you choose to add from your photo library
- Preferences: Your app settings like dark mode and notification preferences
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored in two places:
- On Your Device: All data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad
- iCloud (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account to sync across your devices
We do not have access to your data. It remains entirely under your control.
What We Do NOT Collect
Mother Nance does not:
- Require account creation or login
- Collect analytics or usage data
- Track your location
- Use advertising or ad tracking
- Share any data with third parties
- Send your data to our servers (we don't have any)
Permissions We Request
- Photo Library: To let you add photos to recipes and starters. We only access photos you explicitly select.
- Notifications: To remind you about feeding schedules and baking timers. You can disable these anytime.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This data is protected by your Apple ID and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
Data Export & Deletion
You can export all your data anytime from Settings → Export Data. To delete your data, simply delete the app from your device. If you use iCloud sync, you may also want to remove the data from iCloud via your device's Settings.
Children's Privacy
Mother Nance does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not require or collect any personal information to function.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
